Biography
Born on July 2, 1986 in New York City, Lindsay Lohan is an American actress, model and pop singer. She began modeling as a child, appearing in television commercials and magazine ads.
Lindsay Lohan’s career began at age three, when she was signed with Ford Models. She appeared in several print ads for the Toys “R” Us company, as well as modeling for Calvin Klein Kids. Her first auditions for television didn’t go well, but she eventually was given roles in soap operas. In 1996, she was given the role of Alli Fowler on Another World. She gave up soap upon being cast in dual roles in Disney’s 1998 remake of The Parent Trap. The movie, as well as her performance, was well-received, and Lohan became one of Hollywood’s promising actresses. The Parent Trap was followed by two more television movies, Life-Size in 2000 and Get A Clue in 2002. She was also Bette Midler’s daughter in the short-lived series Bette.

In 2003, Lohan won another lead role in a Disney film, playing alongside Jamie Lee Curtis on Freaky Friday. She was then cast as the lead in two other films, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Mean Girls, both in 2004. Though Confessions didn’t do well with critics, it was commercial success. Playing Cady Heron in Mean Girls reached critical and commercial acclaim for Lohan, earning her the status of the “new teen movie queen.” She was then asked to host Saturday Night Live three times. Lindsay Lohan then returned to Disney to film 2005’s Herbie: Fully Loaded. Her next film, Just My Luck, was poorly received. This was followed by the limited release of A Prairie Home Companion. She also had a role in the independent film Bobby, opposite Elijah Wood. Her next role was as Jude in Chapter 27. She was then chosen to be in the film adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s A Woman of No Importance, but she relinquished the role. In 2007, she starred in Georgia Rule and I Know Who Killed Me, and appeared in an episode of the series Ugly Betty in 2008.
